The Mayor of Yogyakarta, Hasto Wardoyo, is preparing several\nefficiency measures within the Yogyakarta City Government (Pemkot). In\naddition to discussions on implementing work from home (WFH), civil\nservants (ASN) are also being encouraged to switch to environmentally\nfriendly transportation such as bicycles and electric bicycles.<\/p>\n
Hasto stated that regarding the WFH policy, they are still awaiting\nan official letter from the central government. Nevertheless, they have\nheld internal meetings to prepare the implementation scheme, including\ndetermining which regional device organisations (OPD) can apply this\nwork system.<\/p>\n
\u201cWFH, yes. We haven\u2019t received the official letter from the central\ngovernment yet. We\u2019re still waiting, perhaps tomorrow or the day after.\nBut we\u2019ve already had a meeting to determine the WFH formation,\u201d said\nHasto when met in Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta City. Hasto emphasised that not all work units will implement WFH. Several\npublic services must still operate normally from Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n

In addition to WFH, Hasto also plans to implement a policy to limit\nfuel oil (BBM) for official vehicles as an efficiency step. He\nmentioned, for example, that four-wheeled official vehicles are now\nlimited to a maximum of 5 litres per day, while motorcycles are limited\nto 1 litre per day.<\/p>\n
According to him, this policy is taken after observing the\ninefficient use of official vehicles, including for long trips outside\nthe city.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, for example, for four-wheeled vehicles, I will only give a\nmaximum of 5 litres per day, and that for 4 days, so a week it\u2019s only 20\nlitres. Because I see many red-plated four-wheeled vehicles being taken\nhome to their respective areas and the trips are far. I\u2019m sure that\nsometimes 5 litres isn\u2019t enough.
