Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education\n(Kemendikdasmen) has stated that the use of Interactive Flat Panels\n(IFPs) is providing a memorable teaching experience by facilitating\nmaterial delivery for a number of teachers in Purbalingga Regency,\nCentral Java.<\/p>\n
Director General of Vocational Education, Special Education, and\nSpecial Service Education at Kemendikdasmen, Tatang Muttaqin, said in a\nwritten statement in Jakarta on Monday that the digitalisation of\nlearning through the distribution of IFPs is the ministry\u2019s effort to\nensure teaching and learning activities in every classroom are feasible,\nsafe, and comfortable with the help of more adequate technological\naccess.<\/p>\n
On a separate occasion, Ahmad Fahrudin, a Physical Education, Sports,\nand Health (PJOK) teacher at SMPN 2 Kutasari Purbalingga, said the\nexperience of teaching the \u2018Senam Anak Indonesia Hebat\u2019 (Great\nIndonesian Children\u2019s Gymnastics) has changed since the arrival of the\nIFP. According to Ahmad, the features that help him the most are\nmultimedia video playback, screen mirroring, and direct annotation on\nthe screen. The annotation function on the IFP allows a person to make\nspecific notes to explain or provide comments. This function, he said,\nis capable of sharpening students\u2019 understanding and fostering critical\nthinking patterns while opening up opportunities for discussion.<\/p>\n
A similar experience was felt by Patmiarsih Winarni, a science\nteacher from the same school who has been teaching for 25 years.\nAccording to her, the IFP presents a much more lively learning\nexperience compared to conventional methods. \u201cThe IFP makes it easy to\npresent videos, presentations, YouTube, and current news that is\nrelevant to the material. The most memorable experience is when students\nare very enthusiastic about participating in interactive quizzes and\neducational games. Children who usually pay less attention immediately\nfocus on the screen because the learning feels fun,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Patmiarsih added that the digital whiteboard, annotation, and screen\nmirroring features are her favourites. \u201cI can access various references\nquickly, give notes directly on the screen, while also adapting learning\nto the students\u2019 needs. Visual learners learn through videos and\ninfographics, auditory learners through audio, while kinaesthetic\nlearners can come forward to touch, write, or move objects on the\nscreen,\u201d she said.
