The\nthree-day event, running from 26 to 28 June 2026, is being attended by\ndozens of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and players from\nthe creative economy sector, said Head of the East Kalimantan Provincial\nTourism Office, Ririn Sari Dewi, in Samarinda on Saturday. According to\nRirin, this activity serves as an effective promotional platform for\nbusiness actors, as well as a strategic step in strengthening the growth\nof the creative economy ecosystem in East Kalimantan. Under the theme\n\u2018Smart Shopping, Exciting Entertainment, Strong MSMEs, Great Economy\u2019,\nthe East Kalimantan Tourism Office is focusing on several main targets.\n\u2018The purpose of this activity is to encourage the development of local\nproducts, optimise public facilities, drive the economy, and build a\nlove for local products,\u2019 Ririn stressed. Deputy Governor of East\nKalimantan, Seno Aji, expressed appreciation for this initiative.\nAccording to him, amidst government budget efficiency measures, the East\nKalimantan Tourism Office remains able to move nimbly in creating real\ncollaborative spaces for business actors. Seno Aji emphasised the\nimportance of shifting East Kalimantan\u2019s economic engine from the\nnon-renewable natural resources sector to the creative sector. \u2018Based on\ndata from the Central Statistics Agency, the creative economy is now one\nof the backbones of East Kalimantan\u2019s economy. So, never be ashamed to\nbe involved in this industry. MSMEs and the creative economy are the\nspearheads of our economic future,\u2019 Seno Aji asserted. Seno added that\nthe success of this event could not be separated from cross-sector\nsynergy, including support from various MSME communities, the Indonesian\nCatering Services Association, the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs\nAssociation, and the banking sector. As a form of concrete support, the\nEast Kalimantan Provincial Government has integrated MSME strengthening\ninto the regional development vision and mission through the Integrated\nEntrepreneurship Programme (Jospol). This programme encompasses four\nmain pillars: intensive business training, business equipment\nassistance, facilitation of Intellectual Property Rights, and access to\nstrategic partnerships. \u2018Through the Jospol Programme, we aim for East\nKalimantan\u2019s MSMEs to level up and penetrate national and international\nmarkets,\u2019 the Deputy Governor added.
