        "content": "<p>Samarinda (ANTARA) - The East Kalimantan Provincial Government\n(Pemprov Kaltim) has, by March 2026, disbursed education assistance\ntotalling Rp220.65 billion through the Gratispol programme to dozens of\nuniversities that have established strategic partnerships with the local\ngovernment.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Bureau of People\u2019s Welfare (Kesra) of Pemprov Kaltim,\nDasmiah, stated in Samarinda on Sunday that all administrative processes\nand fund transfers to the universities\u2019 accounts have been completed in\nstages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlhamdulillah, the funds have been fully transferred to the\nrespective campus accounts. The second phase disbursement was completed\non 17 March 2026,\u201d Dasmiah said.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that the assistance was disbursed in two major waves to\nensure the accuracy of recipient data.<\/p>\n<p>For the second phase on 17 March 2026, funds amounting to Rp117.55\nbillion were disbursed to 27,548 students spread across 51 higher\neducation institutions, comprising 7 public universities and 44 private\nuniversities.<\/p>\n<p>Cumulatively, the total number of beneficiaries for this period\nreached 48,676 students. This swift action is expected to immediately\nalleviate the burden of tuition fees for students in the midst of the\nongoing academic year.<\/p>\n<p>East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas\u2019ud affirmed that the Gratispol\nprogramme is not merely ordinary social assistance but a long-term\ninvestment instrument to produce competitive human resources (HR).<\/p>\n<p>Despite global fiscal pressures, Pemprov Kaltim continues to\nprioritise education. Beyond the Rp220 billion figure, Pemprov Kaltim\ntargets a total of 158,981 students for the Gratispol programme\nthroughout 2026.<\/p>\n<p>To support this vision, a total budget of Rp1.377 trillion has been\nprepared.
