The East Java High Prosecutor\u2019s Office, in collaboration with PT\nPerusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) Sales and Operation Region\nIII, has strengthened its strategic synergy through the signing of a\nMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of Civil and State\nAdministrative Law (Datun). This cooperation serves as a strategic step\nto reinforce the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG),\nincrease legal certainty, and support the sustainable development of\nPGN\u2019s natural gas infrastructure in the East Java region.<\/p>\n
The Head of the East Java High Prosecutor\u2019s Office, Abdul Qohar,\nemphasised the importance of the strategic partnership between the\nProsecutor\u2019s Office and PGN, as a state-owned enterprise playing a vital\nrole in the national energy system. \u201cPGN holds a crucial position in\nmaintaining national energy security while driving economic growth.\nTherefore, strengthening governance and legal certainty is a primary\nprerequisite for business sustainability and future energy\ninfrastructure development,\u201d Abdul stated in an official release.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, PGN\u2019s Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Hery\nMurahmanta, expressed appreciation for East Java being selected as the\nfirst region for this cooperation signing. He noted that the\ncollaboration is expected to further strengthen legal certainty in the\nprovision of services and the development of PGN\u2019s natural gas\ninfrastructure. \u201cThis collaboration is a preventive measure to ensure\nthat every stage of construction, operation, and development of natural\ngas infrastructure complies with applicable regulations and the\nprinciples of Good Corporate Governance. East Java is one of PGN\u2019s strategic operational regions, with a\nnatural gas distribution network serving various customer segments,\nincluding industrial, commercial, residential, and power plants.\nConsequently, legal certainty in the development and management of\ninfrastructure is a vital factor in maintaining the continuity of energy\nservices to customers.<\/p>\n
In addition to the signing of the MoU, the event included a Focus\nGroup Discussion (FGD) featuring speakers from the Civil and State\nAdministrative Law (Datun) and Special Crimes (Pidsus) divisions of the\nEast Java High Prosecutor\u2019s Office. The forum discussed strengthening\nGCG implementation, legal risk mitigation strategies, and understanding\nthe boundaries between business risks and acts involving the abuse of\nauthority in the execution of strategic projects.<\/p>\n
