Jakarta \u2013 The East Jakarta Municipal Government has recorded that 27\nof the 57 padel courts operating within its jurisdiction lack proper\nauthorisation.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo in total there are around 57 padel courts in East Jakarta, and\naround 27 are unlicensed, whilst the remaining 30 already have permits,\u201d\nsaid East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin on Jalan Kolonel Sutomo, Kebon Pala,\nMakasar, East Jakarta, on Thursday.<\/p>\n
As part of enforcement efforts, the East Jakarta Municipal Government\nthrough the Sub-Office of Development Works, Spatial Planning and Land\n(Citata\/CKTRP) is conducting monitoring and enforcement actions against\npadel courts that violate regulations.<\/p>\n
Unlicensed padel courts or those misusing permits and violating\napplicable provisions will be sealed and subject to follow-up\naction.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe continue to monitor the proliferation of padel court construction\nin East Jakarta, and we will take action,\u201d Munjirin stated.<\/p>\n
Additionally, oversight of these sports facilities will be carried\nout continuously by the Citata Sub-Office together with local\nstakeholders.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Citata Sub-Office of East Jakarta together with relevant parties\nwill continue monitoring and carrying out enforcement actions as we did\nthis morning,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
After buildings are sealed, the Citata sub-district officers and\nlocal village administrations will conduct regular inspections to ensure\nno activities violate regulations.<\/p>\n
Through these measures, Munjirin hopes that sports facility\ndevelopment in his jurisdiction can proceed in an orderly manner in\naccordance with spatial planning and licensing regulations.<\/p>\n
One recent enforcement action was taken in Kebon Pala Village,\nMakasar Sub-district, where a padel court was sealed for allegedly\nmisusing a building permit.<\/p>\n
The building located at Jalan Kolonel Sutomo 1 Number 22 previously\nheld a boarding house permit issued in 2018. However, the structure was\nsubsequently converted into a padel court.<\/p>\n
According to Munjirin, this sealing represents the eighth enforcement\naction carried out in East Jakarta to regulate padel courts that do not\ncomply with licensing requirements.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have re-sealed the building. We had sealed it previously.\nSecondly, we issued a warning letter to conduct permanent sealing of\nthis building,\u201d said Head of the Sub-Office of Development Works,\nSpatial Planning and Land (CKTRP) East Jakarta Wiwit Djalu Adji after\nplacing a notification board at the padel court location in Pulomas,\nEast Jakarta, on Thursday, 26 February.<\/p>\n
The action was taken because the building permit did not align with\nits actual use and it lacked a certificate of functional feasibility\n(SLF).<\/p>\n
During the enforcement operation, officers installed a notification\nbanner at the location indicating that the building would be permanently\nsealed.<\/p>\n
The banner displayed \u201cThis building is subject to permanent closure\n(sealed)\u201d.
