        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The East Jakarta Municipal Government sealed a padel court\nbuilding that did not conform to its designated permit usage, operating\nunder a boarding house authorisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis morning I witnessed the East Jakarta Public Works, Spatial\nPlanning and Land Agency (CKTRP) carry out the sealing of a padel court\nin Kebon Pala Village,\u201d said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin at Jalan\nKolonel Sutomo, Kebon Pala, Makasar, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>A padel court in Kebon Pala Village, Makasar District was sealed by\nthe Public Works, Spatial Planning and Land Agency (CKTRP) due to\nalleged misuse of the building permit.<\/p>\n<p>Munjirin explained that the padel court was the eighth location\nsealed by the East Jakarta Public Works Agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sealing was carried out because the building permit held did not\nmatch the function of the building currently in use,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the building permit was issued in 2018 and was\nintended for a boarding house. However, in practice, the building was\ninstead used as a padel court.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that all construction in the East Jakarta region must\ncomply with applicable licensing regulations, both in terms of building\nfunction and administrative process.<\/p>\n<p>The East Jakarta Municipal Government hopes that business owners or\ndevelopers who wish to construct sports facilities, including padel\ncourts, can obtain licences correctly to prevent spatial planning\nviolations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur hope is that all East Jakarta residents carrying out\nconstruction, particularly padel court construction, will comply with\nexisting regulations, both in terms of licensing and alignment of\nconstruction with issued permits,\u201d Munjirin said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding further steps following the sealing, he stated that\ntechnical decisions regarding possible demolition or other sanctions\nwould be determined by the East Jakarta Public Works, Spatial Planning\nand Land Agency according to applicable procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the East Jakarta Municipal Government permanently sealed\na padel court in the Pulomas area, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung\nDistrict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have carried out re-sealing. We had sealed it before. Secondly,\nwe issued a warning letter to carry out permanent sealing of this\nbuilding,\u201d said Head of the East Jakarta Public Works, Spatial Planning\nand Land Agency Wiwit Djalu Adji after posting a notification board at\nthe padel court location in Pulomas, East Jakarta, on Thursday (26\nFebruary).<\/p>\n<p>This action was taken due to discovered building permit\nnon-compliance and the lack of a certificate of functional suitability\n(SLF).<\/p>",
