The reconstruction included reinforcing the structure and raising the construction height by 50 centimetres to improve water flow and prevent future damage.

The East Jakarta City Government, through the Department of Highways,
has completed the repairs of the Pule Bridge on Jalan Pule, Ciracas,
which collapsed in April 2026.

“Today, we are grateful for the speed and responsiveness of the East
Jakarta Highways Department, which allowed this bridge work to be
completed,” said Fauzi, the Assistant for Economy and Development of
East Jakarta, in Ciracass, East Jakarta, on Monday.

According to Fauzi, the Pule Bridge plays a vital role as an
alternative route connecting the residents of Ciracas and Kampung
Rambutan. Therefore, in addition to repairing the infrastructure, Fauzi
called for public awareness in maintaining public facilities to ensure
long-term usability. As the bridge serves as the most accessible
alternative route for residents’ daily activities, ensuring its safety
and stability is a critical necessity for the local community.

“I hope that residents will not only utilise the facilities built by
the government but also take responsibility for maintaining them so they
continue to benefit the community,” Fauzi added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Jakarta Highways Department, Benhard
Hutajulu, explained that the repairs to the Pule Bridge were finalised
on 16 May 2026. During the rehabilitation process, the department not
only reinforced the damaged bridge structure but also increased the
construction height by approximately 50 centimetres. This elevation was
implemented to facilitate smoother water flow beneath the bridge,
thereby reducing the risk of structural damage in the future.

However, Benhard reminded the public to remain mindful of the
bridge’s capacity. He requested that heavy tonnage vehicles avoid using
the route, as the Pule Bridge is designed specifically as a local
alternative access.

“We urge heavy vehicles to use the main roads. Vehicles exceeding the
capacity of a single-axle truck should use Jalan Tanah Merdeka or other
routes. This is essential to ensure the bridge remains durable and
usable for the community for a long time,” Benhard explained.

As the Pule Bridge is a vital access point for residents travelling
between Ciracas and Rambutan, there are concerns that damage caused by
overloading could disrupt the daily mobility of those who rely on the
route. With the restoration of the Pule Bridge, Benhard expressed hope
that collaboration between the government and the community will
continue to strengthen in the maintenance of public facilities.
",
