        "content": "<p>Easier tax for borrowers<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Director General of Taxation Fuad Bawazier<br>\nsuggested yesterday that Bank Indonesia, the central bank, raise<br>\nthe amount of bank credits that can be obtained by borrowers<br>\nwithout having to produce taxpayer registration numbers from Rp<br>\n30 million to Rp 50 million.<\/p>\n<p>Such a ruling is needed to support the new small business loan<br>\nplan which will extend unsecured credits of up to Rp 50 million<br>\nto small businessmen or firms, Fuad said in a letter to Bank<br>\nIndonesia Governor J. Soedradjad Djiwandono.<\/p>\n<p>The central bank issued a ruling early this year which<br>\nrequires those applying for bank credits of up to Rp 30 million<br>\nto submit copies of their tax registration numbers to support<br>\ntheir loan applications.<\/p>\n<p>According to Minister of Finance Mar&apos;ie Muhammad, the<br>\ncollateral-free loan plan for small businesses will be launched<br>\nby state banks next month.
