        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Communication and Digital\nTechnology is preparing an Early Warning System (EWS) and 112 emergency\ncall centre to support disaster mitigation efforts during the 2026 Eid\nholiday period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are preparing EWS support or disaster information delivery\nthrough SMS broadcasts and national digital television broadcasts,\u201d said\nWayan Toni Supriyanto, Director General of Digital Infrastructure at the\nMinistry of Communication and Digital Technology, during the deployment\nof a telecommunications service monitoring task force for the 2026 Eid\nperiod in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The EWS will deliver notifications to residents through digital\ntelevision if a disaster occurs in their residential area.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are advised to configure their digital television services\naccording to their residential postcode so that the EWS can deliver\nnotifications accurately.<\/p>\n<p>The 112 emergency call centre service is already available in DKI\nJakarta Province and 190 regencies\/cities across Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Residents can contact the 112 emergency centre, which is integrated\nwith emergency police, fire, and ambulance services, at no cost.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople can call if there are issues. They just need to call 112 as\nthe emergency centre for any incident in their respective city,\u201d said\nWayan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are prioritising ensuring that the most urgent matters are\naddressed first for telecommunications networks or signals, which is\nelectricity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have already communicated with colleagues from PLN and are\nattempting to prepare a backup plan in case of a disaster, but hopefully\nthis will not happen,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
