REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA \u2014 A socialisation event on the need for\nearly detection of preeclampsia was held at the Ministry of Health in\nJakarta on Tuesday (21\/4\/2026). Detection of this pregnancy disorder is\nconsidered to increase the risk of premature birth and low birth weight.\nBoth are seen as risk factors for stunting in children.<\/p>\n
At this event, Bakti BCA distributed aid in the form of one package\nof early preeclampsia detection equipment to Cisompet Health Centre in\nGarut, West Java. The equipment consists of an ultrasound device,\npatient monitor, Android tablet, and the Cexup application, which is\nused by health workers to detect risks more quickly and accurately.<\/p>\n
In addition, Bakti BCA invited 31 pregnant women from the operational\narea of the Bakti BCA Clinic, namely Mangga Dua Bakti Medika Clinic.\nThey had the opportunity to directly receive socialisation and undergo\nearly preeclampsia detection checks so that pregnancy risks can be\nidentified earlier.<\/p>\n
Not only that, Bakti BCA together with Bakti Medika Clinic also\nprovided free Mini Medical Check-Up (MCU) services for participants, as\npart of efforts to promote broader early disease detection.<\/p>\n
BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono stated that this activity is\nexpected to detect earlier the risks faced by pregnant women, one of\nwhich is preeclampsia. This aligns with the government\u2019s efforts to\nreduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (AKI), which is still recorded as\nhigh compared to other Southeast Asian countries.<\/p>\n
Widodo mentioned the need for active collaboration from various\nparties to achieve that target. In this regard, Widodo emphasised that\nBCA will always support the sustainability of maternal and child life in\nthe long term.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday we are providing aid in the form of a set of early\npreeclampsia detection equipment; previously, we have also been active\nin supporting stunting prevention in recent years. Hopefully, with what\nwe do, we can reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate in Indonesia,\u201d said\nWidodo.<\/p>\n
BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F.\nHaryn added that this activity with the Ministry of Health is their\ncontribution to supporting stunting prevention. Previously, BCA had\nfirst implemented the PASTI (Partner for Accelerating Stunting Reduction\nin Indonesia) programme and the \u2018Ayo Cegah Stunting\u2019 programme.<\/p>\n
Hera explained that they, together with philanthropic organisations\nand other private companies, also support the Ministry of Population and\nFamily Planning through the PASTI programme to accelerate the reduction\nof stunting rates in Indonesia. This joint programme runs for four\nyears, from 2023 to 2026, with a total donation of US$1 million. Through\nseveral of these programmes, 6,070 children under two years old\n(toddlers) have received nutritional interventions during the 2023-2025\nperiod.<\/p>\n
\u201cStunting prevention needs to start from upstream, starting from\nadolescents and family readiness, maternal health during pregnancy, to\nchild growth and development.
