Timor gets low cost houses<\/p>\n<p>SURABAYA, East Java: The state-owned housing company<br>\n(Perumnas) will build 200 low cost houses in East Timor this year<br>\nto help fill the glut of applications in Indonesia's youngest<br>\nprovince.<\/p>\n<p>The head of Perumnas' regional IV division, Soedmanto, told<br>\njournalists here Monday that the waiting list for low cost<br>\nhousing has reached 1,000 applicants. The regional IV division<br>\ncovers East Java, East and West Nusa Tenggara along with East<br>\nTimor.<\/p>\n<p>As quoted by Antara, Soedmanto said that during the sixth<br>\ndevelopment plan (Pelita VI) a total of 1,000 houses will be<br>\nbuilt in East Timor in the Ainaro, Gleno, Same and Komoro<br>\nregencies.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, an additional 100 low<br>\ncost houses are also due to be built this year.
