DXN to open Indonesian plant<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Herbal medicine producer DXN International of
\nMalaysia is to set up a plant in Cikarang, West Java, to
\nstrengthen its business in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
DXN Indonesia, the Malaysian company's official distributor,
\nsaid on Saturday that work on the plant costing Rp 4 billion
\n(US$530,000) would start early next year.<\/p>\n
The company said Indonesia is a potential market for
\ntraditional medicines, adding that demand for herbal medicines
\nwas still increasing despite the economic crisis.<\/p>\n
"A new plant is needed to tap the country's growing demand for
\nherbal medicines," it said.<\/p>\n
The company said that it will initially import ling zhi (red
\nmushroom), its basic raw material, from China, but said it plans
\nto conduct research into cultivating the mushroom here.<\/p>\n
DXN, which sell its products through a Multi Level Marketing
\nsystem, entered Indonesia in October last year. Its sells its
\nproducts to a number of Asian countries, including Singapore,
\nThailand, Hong Kong, and Brunei. (gis)<\/p>",
