        "content": "<p>Duties on Asian bicycles<\/p>\n<p>BRUSSELS (Reuter): The European Commission has decided to<br>\nextend for two months provisional anti-dumping duties on bicycles<br>\nfrom Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand to give it more time to<br>\ncomplete its investigations.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement, published in the EUs Official Journal,<br>\nextends the duties to April 14 unless the Commission<br>\ndecides before then to impose definitive duties.<\/p>\n<p>The duties were originally imposed in October, 1995 after a<br>\none-year investigation triggered by complaints from European<br>\nmanufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation found that imports from the three countries<br>\nnearly tripled to 12 million bicycles between 1990 and 1993, and<br>\nthat their combined share of the EU market leaped to 21.7 percent<br>\nfrom 8.2 percent.<\/p>",
