        "content": "<p>Dutch firms cooperate in public works sector<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Several Dutch companies with interests in the<br>\ntransportation and public works sectors have clinched deals with<br>\nlocal government offices and state-owned firms to conduct<br>\nfeasibility studies, consultancy services and joint venture<br>\noperations.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the companies were among those who joined a<br>\nvisiting delegation of Dutch businessmen, led by Minister of<br>\nTransport, Public Works and Water Management, Annemarie<br>\nJorritsma-Lebbink.<\/p>\n<p>Jorritsma-Lebbink told a press conference yesterday that at<br>\nleast three firms were scheduled to sign memorandums of<br>\nunderstanding with their Indonesian counterparts during the<br>\ncurrent visit.<\/p>\n<p>The companies are E.T. Projects, specializing in education and<br>\ntraining, and its partner, P.v.Tilburg-Bastianen Revisie B.V.,<br>\nwhich specializes in engineering works; Holec Ridderkerk, a<br>\nmanufacturer of electrical control and drive systems for<br>\ntransportation purposes; and Dynamar Consultancy BV, which<br>\nspecializes in the maritime sector.<\/p>\n<p>A director of E.T. Projects, Joost A.I.M. Vorstenbosch, said<br>\nhis company, in collaboration with Tilburg-Bastianen and their<br>\nIndonesian partner, PT Boma Bisma Indra -- a state-owned firm<br>\noverseen by the Management Board for Strategic Industries (BPIS)<br>\n-- will conduct a feasibility study on the conversion of heavy<br>\nduty diesel-fueled vehicles to gas-fueled vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>BPIS, which oversees 10 companies, is chaired by State<br>\nMinister of Research and Technology B.J. Habibie.<\/p>\n<p>Vorstenbosch said the feasibility study will cost about<br>\n500,000 to 1 million Dutch guilders (US$300,000 to $600,000).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Holec Ridderkerk&apos;s president, J. Holthaus, said his<br>\ncompany is exploring the possibility of setting up a joint<br>\nventure  with its Indonesian counterpart, PT LEN Industri,<br>\nanother state-owned firm managed by BPIS, to participate in the<br>\nrailway industry.<\/p>\n<p>The planned venture will involve the construction systems for<br>\n32 electric trains to serve the greater Jakarta area.<\/p>\n<p>He declined to elaborate on the project&apos;s value but said it<br>\nmight cost &quot;several hundred million guilders&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Dynamar Consultancy will conduct maritime training programs<br>\nand in-house consultancy services for the Ministry of<br>\nTransportation.<\/p>\n<p>Jorritsma-Lebbink said yesterday the project, which will<br>\nmainly focus on human resource development, will cost around $36<br>\nmillion.<\/p>\n<p>She was scheduled yesterday to meet with Minister of<br>\nTransportation Haryanto Dhanutirto and Coordinating Minister for<br>\nProduction and Distribution Hartarto.
