        "content": "<p>REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDINA \u2014 To ensure the catering services for the\nsecond wave of Indonesian pilgrims in Medina, the Minister of Hajj and\nUmrah, Mochammad Irfan Yusuf, inspected two kitchens on Wednesday (June\n3, 2026) afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Together with several members of the Amirul Hajj, the Minister\nvisited the Meez Mery and Uhud Taiba catering companies. This visit was\nto ensure the quality of catering services for pilgrims, as well as part\nof the supervision of several catering companies serving Indonesian\npilgrims.<\/p>\n<p>At Meez Merry, the group inspected the cooking process, storage, raw\nmaterials, and cooking spices. The Minister was informed that the raw\nmaterials for the dishes, such as coconut milk, came from Indonesia.\nHowever, the packaging of the coconut milk stated that it was licensed\nin Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, at Ubud Taiba, the Minister was informed that anchovies\nand catfish came from other countries. In fact, Indonesia is a major\nsource of both types of fish. Gus Irfan emphasized that the inspection\nfocused on hygiene, health, and food processing standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, we ensured that they cook and serve the pilgrims well,\ncleanly, and healthily,\u201d said Gus Irfan.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the government highlighted the potential for optimizing\nthe use of Indonesian food products in catering services for pilgrims.\nHe found that some ingredients, such as coconut milk and catfish, could\nbe supplied from within the country, but were still imported from other\ncountries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw coconut milk, and I thought it was from Indonesia, but the\nbrand is from a neighboring country. The same goes for catfish, even\nthough we can produce it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged that the delivery of food ingredients, such as rice,\nfrom Indonesia to Saudi Arabia is still facing challenges, especially\ndue to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, which has impacted\nthe high cost of logistics.<\/p>",
