A passenger named Novi (30) said on Tuesday that\nthe incident occurred around 5 PM. \u2018It was around 5 o\u2019clock. I was\ntravelling from Duri to Tangerang after work,\u2019 Novi said from inside the\ntrain carriage with doors open. She added she was unsure what to do\nafter the train stopped suddenly. \u2018Just wait until it starts again,\u2019 she\nsaid. At 6:40 PM, the train remained stationary with some passengers\nalighting while others remained onboard. The carriage lights were off,\nflickering on and off intermittently. The incident drew local residents,\nwith children and adults gathering around the rear carriage positioned\nat the road and rail crossing. Meanwhile, the level crossing barriers on\nDaan Mogot Road and the opposite direction remained closed. Many drivers\nwere delayed, opting to turn around for alternative routes. Others\nparked in front of the barriers to watch the stationary train.\nAdditionally, the crossing alarm continued to sound, indicating an\nincident at the crossing. Tensions rose as trains passed from Tangerang\nto Duri. The halted train and crowds at the crossing caused passing\ntrains to slow down.
