Head of the Presidential Staff Office Dudung Abdurachman has spoken\nout regarding Habib Rizieq Shihab\u2019s statement that alluded to the\n\u2018Banner General\u2019 whispering to President Prabowo Subianto about the\nremark \u2018fleeing to Yemen\u2019. Dudung dismissed the notion that he was\ninfluencing Prabowo.<\/p>\n
Initially, Dudung emphasised that he personally no longer has any\nissues with Habib Rizieq. He explained that the previous removal of\nbanners was related to the status of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI)\norganisation, which had been dissolved by the government at that\ntime.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, the President mentioned fleeing to Yemen because there\u2019s the\nBanner General behind it, right? Well, in my opinion, between me and\nHabib Rizieq, there\u2019s actually no problem anymore,\u201d Dudung said at the\nBina Graha Office, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (5\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause actually, when I removed the banners back then, it was\nbecause FPI was indeed an organisation that had been dissolved in 2019,\u201d\nhe continued.<\/p>\n
At that time, Dudung served as Commander of the Jakarta Military\nRegion (Pangdam Jaya). According to Dudung, the resurgence of FPI\u2019s\ninfluence at that time was triggered by the \u2018moral revolution\u2019\nnarrative, which was deemed potentially disruptive to national unity and\nintegrity.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, what strengthened it, in my view, was the calls for a moral\nrevolution, which then from the narratives conveyed, inviting and\ndeveloping activities that, in my opinion, indeed disrupted national\nunity and integrity,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
He noted that the enforcement actions at the time had been\ncoordinated. \u201cAnd the one who dissolved it was the Ministry of Home\nAffairs, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security\nAffairs. Regarding Habib Rizieq\u2019s statement linking him to certain political\nnarratives after taking office as Head of the Presidential Staff, Dudung\nrefuted it. He stressed that he never whispered anything to Prabowo.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, now it\u2019s buzzing as if after I became KSP, that\u2019s when the\nnarrative from Mr President emerged. No, it\u2019s not from me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He also invited all parties, including Habib Rizieq, to jointly\nmaintain calm amid the global crisis. Dudung reminded of the importance\nof preserving national unity and not being provoked by issues that could\ndivide.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut that means, in my opinion, Mr Rizieq, well, we\u2019re both old now.\nCome on, let\u2019s build this nation with composure, without provoking,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He stated that, as a religious scholar, Habib Rizieq should calm\nthings down, not the opposite. \u201cI see his language has never changed,\nthe old language is the same as now. If said to be a scholar, a scholar\nis one who always calms, yes,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Dudung invited Habib Rizieq to think clearly. He also reminded the\nimportance of not making assumptions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThink clearly, his eyes never belittle others, his mouth doesn\u2019t\nbadmouth others, his heart also doesn\u2019t harbour bad assumptions about\nothers, and his hands are not dirtied with bad things. That\u2019s why guard\nyour eyes, guard your heart, and guard your mouth,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Habib Rizieq\u2019s Statement<\/p>\n
As for Habib Rizieq\u2019s statement, it began when he responded to\nPrabowo\u2019s remarks. He suspected that Prabowo was influenced by certain\nparties who are now his aides and advisors in the government. In fact,\naccording to him, Prabowo never mentioned such things during his\nleadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat caused that? Having bad friends, brother. For a year and a\nhalf, our president never said that, why today does he say that?\u201d Rizieq\nsaid in a video broadcast on the OfficialIslamicBrotherhoodTV YouTube\naccount.<\/p>\n
Rizieq highlighted Prabowo\u2019s previous meeting with someone he called\nthe \u2018minister of all affairs\u2019 in the previous president\u2019s era.<\/p>\n
\u201cBack then, the one who said that wasn\u2019t the president, there was a\nminister of all affairs, you know? Called again, met, chatted, what\u2019s\nup? It\u2019s contagious, brother,\u201d Rizieq said.<\/p>\n
Rizieq felt that Prabowo\u2019s statement was not unrelated to his meeting\nwith a figure he called the \u2018minister of all affairs\u2019.<\/p>\n

Rizieq spotlighted the term Yemen used by Prabowo in line with\nprevious statements. According to Rizieq, Prabowo uttered the word Yemen\nbecause he was influenced by someone he called the \u2018Banner General\u2019.<\/p>\n

Habib Rizieq questioned the reason Prabowo appointed the figure he\ncalled the \u2018Banner General\u2019 as an advisor. Rizieq also revealed\nallegations of the Banner General\u2019s involvement in the Km 50 case.<\/p>\n
