Duck billionaire named suspect<\/p>\n
CIREBON, West Java: Ade Suhidin, the owner of a duck husbandry
\nfirm PT Adess Sumber Hidup Dinamika, was named a suspect on
\nTuesday for alleged embezzlement and is wanted by the Cirebon
\npolice.<\/p>\n
Adj. Comr. Taufik Asrori, the chief of police detectives said
\nthat Ade, who earlier this year was a gubernatorial candidate for
\nWest Java, was named a suspect after he was charged with
\nembezzling Rp 2 billion belonging to 120 investors.<\/p>\n
The case began in February this year, when Ade started to
\npromote his firm to prospective investors. He offered the
\ninvestors good investment returns if they were willing to invest
\nin his company.<\/p>\n
He provided evidence to the investors that he had several
\nthousands ducks housed in several animal husbandry farms in three
\nseparate subdistricts in Cirebon.<\/p>\n
Attracted by his presentation, dozens of investors were
\nwilling to invest in the company in February, ranging from
\nmillions to tens of millions of rupiah.<\/p>\n
The investors began to ask for dividends after the company was
\noperational for several months, but Ade never met the request. He
\nwas then reported to the police by the investors in November,
\nwhen the police immediately issued a summons letter to question
\nhim.<\/p>\n
He never turned up and has gone missing since then. The police
\nwho investigated the duck farms found that the sites were empty
\nor that most of the ducks had died, apparently from neglect. --
