        "content": "<p>Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa confirmed there are no plans to\ntransfer the export oversight functions of the Directorate General of\nCustoms and Excise (DJBC) to PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI). He\nalso stressed that establishing DSI as an export entity would not alter\nDJBC\u2019s role.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Yes, it remains as usual. What difference is there? Reporting and\nother matters will be handled by DSI, but Customs will still inspect\nimports and exports,\u2019 Purbaya said at the Coordinating Ministry for\nEconomic Affairs in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So it does not mean Customs\u2019 functions are lost,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>Purbaya stated the government is working to strengthen Customs\u2019 role,\nas President Prabowo has signaled an evaluation of its performance.\nTherefore, DJBC improvements will continue, including replacing\nleadership if deemed incapable of fulfilling duties properly.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Customs\u2019 role remains the same, but it will be improved. If they\u2019re\nnot up to the job, leadership must be replaced,\u2019 Purbaya said.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, National Economic Council (DEN) Chairman Luhut Binsar\nPandjaitan, via spokesperson Jodi Mahardi, confirmed that previous\nproposals on natural resource export management did not shift DJBC\u2019s\nfunctions.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We emphasise that Mr Luhut did not propose any takeover, merger, or\nchange in the functions of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise\n(DJBC),\u2019 he said.<\/p>",
