Weightlifter Jadi Setiadi failed to follow his compatriot's feat
\nin the Busan 2002 Asian Games when he only managed to finish
\nfourth in the men's 56-kilogram weightclass division at the
\nPukyong University gymnasium with a total lift of 270.0
\nkilograms. His snatch lift was 120.0 kilograms and his clean-and-
\njerk lift was 150.0 kilograms.<\/p>\n
China's Wu Meijin won the gold medal with a total lift of
\n292.5 kilograms followed by two lifters from Chinese Taipei, Wang
\nShin-yuan who lifted 282.5 kilograms and his compatriot Yang
\nChin-yi with 275.0 kilograms.<\/p>\n
Indonesia's Lisa Raema Rumbewas took Indonesia's first medal
\nafter winning a bronze in the women's under-48-kilogram
\nweightclass division on Monday.<\/p>\n
\"I am not satisfied with the result because actually I could
\ndo more,\" Jadi said after the event.<\/p>\n
However, a weightlifting official, Gandrung, said the result
\nwas a good one.<\/p>\n
\"Jadi has done his best. Especially when we consider that the
\nlift equaled the one he made in the Kuala Lumpur 2001 Southeast
\nAsian (SEA) Games,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Indonesian beach volleyball players secured their
\nspots in the knock-out second round after winning all of their
\ngroup matches.<\/p>\n
Agus Salim and Koko Prasetyo Darkuncoro of the Indonesia 1
\nteam defeated the Thailand 2 team of Bunrueang Sonthi and Patsorn
\nPetch in Group A 21-13, 21-18.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the morning, the Indonesia 2 team of Andy
\nArdiansyah and Supriadi beat the Kuwait 1 team of Al Abdulqadeer
\nDawood and Almuzail Adel 21-12, 21-17 in Group C.<\/p>\n
In their second match of the day, the Indonesia 2 team
\nconquered their physical disadvantages by defeating the
\nKazakhstan 1 team of Pavel Zabuslayev and Dmitriy Vorobyev 21-18,
\n21-18 in a tight match.<\/p>\n
Both Indonesian teams topped their respective groups and
\nhopefully they will be able to defend this position after
\nWednesday's matches, the last in the group qualifiers.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, Agus and Koko will face Qatar 1 in the second
\nround while the Indonesia 2 team will face South Korea 2.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in women's beach volleyball, Indonesia's sole team
\nof Siti Nurjanah and Ni Putu Timy Yudhani Rahayu beat the host
\nSouth Korea 1 team of Chang Yoon Hee and Kim Yeon 21-16, 21-13.<\/p>\n
The girls will challenge the China 1 team on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In a separate development, Indonesian rowers also secured
\ntheir places in the final stages after repechage races on the
\nNakdong river.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Indonesia's only gymnast, Jonathan Mangiring
\nSianturi, finished 51st out of 61 gymnasts at the Sajik Gymnasium
\nafter the preliminary rounds of men's team and individual events.<\/p>\n
Jonathan, who only took part in two of five instruments,
\ncollected 9.250 for the rings event and 9.100 for the vault
\nevent.<\/p>\n
\"I don't know whether I will be in the final stage or not
\nbecause the gymnastics organizing committee has yet to decide.<\/p>\n
\"We expect they will issue the result on Wednesday or
\nThursday,\" he said, adding that it would be better for him to
\nknow the result as soon as possible.<\/p>",
