Police have revealed the actions of a man identified as A, also known\nas R (23), who is suspected of molesting a 9-year-old boy in Setu, South\nTangerang. The suspect was reportedly swept away by a drain\u2019s current\nwhile playing in the rain.<\/p>\n
\u2018At 2pm WIB, A alias R left his rented room to play in the rain and\nfell into a drain, being carried away by the current,\u2019 said Cisauk\nPolice Station Chief Assistant Commissioner Dhady Arsya to reporters on\nMonday, 25 May 2026.<\/p>\n
The suspect then saw children at the scene and invited them to play\nhide-and-seek. It was during this game that he allegedly molested the\nvictim.<\/p>\n
\u2018According to witness statements, during the hide-and-seek game, the\nsuspect grabbed the child\u2019s trousers, prompting the child to scream,\nafter which the suspect fled,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Residents chased and assaulted A. The suspect was also reported to\nhave attempted to steal a resident\u2019s phone.<\/p>\n
\u2018A immediately fled but was eventually apprehended by locals. Before\nbeing caught, he entered a resident\u2019s house and took a mobile phone, but\nwas pursued again,\u2019 said AKP Dhady.<\/p>\n
The incident was reported on Sunday, 24 May. The suspect is believed\nto have consumed alcohol with his sibling.<\/p>\n
\u2018When Cisauk police arrived at the scene, A alias R was already being\nattacked by the crowd, so officers swiftly took the suspect to the\npolice station.
