        "content": "<p>Drug traders, officer netted in police raid<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The North Jakarta Police intensified their<br>\nweekend raids against suspected criminals, particularly at<br>\nentertainment spots.<\/p>\n<p>In a raid early on Sunday morning, police dispatched to Ancol<br>\nDreamland netted 15 people, including a plainclothes military<br>\npolice officer who was driving a motorcycle for which he did not<br>\nhave proper documents.<\/p>\n<p>The police said they would handle the case of the officer in<br>\nline with existing laws, saying the officer would be treated the<br>\nsame as the 14 civilians who were apprehended for similar<br>\nmisdeeds.<\/p>\n<p>\"Since the officer was arrested in 'civilian' clothes, he will<br>\nbe treated as all the others,\" police Capt. Rusyidi said.<\/p>\n<p>The raid took place between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., with officers<br>\nquestioning motorists leaving Ancol Dreamland.<\/p>\n<p>Antara reported that a number of people netted in the<br>\noperation agreed to \"out-of-court\" settlements with the officers.<\/p>\n<p>Early on Thursday, the North Jakarta Police detained two men<br>\nbelieved to be a supplier and trader of ecstasy pills<br>\nrespectively.<\/p>\n<p>Police seized 4,874 ecstasy pills from the first man,<br>\nidentified as Djaf, and 90 pills from the second suspect, J.H.<\/p>\n<p>J.H. claimed to be a national rowing athlete.<\/p>\n<p>North Jakarta Police chief Lt. Col. Wisjnu Amat Sastro said on<br>\nSaturday that J.H. was arrested on Jl. Pademangan, while Djaf was<br>\narrested after J.H. told police that he had bought the ecstasy<br>\nfrom Djaf.<\/p>\n<p>The latter was arrested at his house in the Duta Harapan Indah<br>\nhousing complex in Bekasi. While searching the residence, police<br>\nfound a bag of 4,874 ecstasy pills, Wisjnu said.<\/p>\n<p>\"Djaf had three types of pills -- Superman, Mitsubishi and<br>\nButterfly -- which he offered to his regular buyers,\" the officer<br>\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>Djaf admitted to having bought the pills from someone named A<br>\nHok in a hotel in West Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, J.H. told reporters that he bought the pills for<br>\nRp 15,000 each and planned to sell them for between Rp 20,000 and<br>\nRp 30,000 each to customers at several discotheques in the Mangga<br>\nBesar area of West Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\"From the suspects, we hope we can develop the case and<br>\nhopefully break the drugs' distribution chain, especially in this<br>\narea,\" Wisjnu said.
