        "content": "<p>An attempt to smuggle drugs into the Class I Penitentiary in Semarang\nhas been foiled by prison officers. The illicit items were found in the\nagricultural area of the northern outer perimeter, having been thrown\nover the prison wall.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Semarang Class I Prison, Ahmad Tohari, confirmed the\ndiscovery of the suspicious package on Tuesday (4\/8) at around 09.30\nWIB. The find occurred when two officers, Aditya Siko and Dany Marsa,\nwere conducting routine surveillance in the farming activity area.<\/p>\n<p>While on patrol, they discovered a black plastic package wrapped in\nduct tape among the crops. The discovery was immediately coordinated\nwith the Head of Security and the Head of Prevention and Suppression of\nSecurity and Order Disturbances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter an examination was carried out according to standard operating\nprocedures and documented, it turned out that the package contained\ndrugs, which we have now secured as evidence,\u201d said Ahmad Tohari.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad Tohari explained that the package is strongly suspected to have\nbeen deliberately thrown over the perimeter wall and was intended for\none of the inmates inside the prison. The discovery is the result of\nincreased vigilance by officers in maintaining the prison\u2019s integrity\nagainst drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not give the slightest room for attempts to smuggle drugs or\nother prohibited items into the prison,\u201d Ahmad Tohari stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The Semarang Class I Prison is currently conducting further\ninvestigations to uncover the identity of the sender and the inmate who\nwas the intended recipient of the package. In addition to securing the\nevidence, prison authorities are also tightening security at several\nvulnerable points to prevent similar smuggling methods from recurring in\nthe future.<\/p>",
