Drug seminar 'poorly organized'<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: A number of participants of a national seminar on the
\neradication of illegal drugs held by several government
\nministries complained the event was poorly organized.<\/p>\n
\"As a national seminar, this is poorly organized. Participants
\ndon't have the slightest idea about the topics as we weren't
\ngiven any information prior to the presentation,\" a participant
\nfrom Bengkulu said.<\/p>\n
The seminar, organized by the National Narcotics Board (BNN)
\nin cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the
\nMinistry of Home Affairs, was expected to discuss the action plan
\nfor next year in combating drug abuse. Representatives of
\nregional governments and non-governmental organizations were
\ninvited to the two-day event.<\/p>\n
Another participant from Bali complained about the absence of
\nwritten copies of the presentations, saying it had created
\nconfusion among participants as they could not understand the
\nmessages the presenters were trying to deliver.<\/p>\n
\"The presenters are supposed to be giving information on what
\nthey have done over the year, what are the obstacles encountered,
\nand what needs to be done in the coming year. But what they are
\npresenting are only structural issues,\" he said. -- JP<\/p>",
