        "content": "<p>Kuwaiti civil aviation authorities reported that Kuwait International\nAirport was targeted by a drone attack on Wednesday (1\/4\/2026) local\ntime. The incident triggered a large fire at the fuel storage\nfacility.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman for the General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Kuwait,\nAbdullah Al-Rajhi, stated that the attack was launched by Iran and the\narmed factions it supports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKuwait International Airport has been subjected to a blatant drone\nattack launched by Iran and the armed factions it supports,\u201d Al-Rajhi\nsaid, as quoted by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).<\/p>\n<p>He added that the target of the attack was the fuel storage tank,\nwhich then burned fiercely. Nevertheless, there were no casualties in\nthe incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fuel storage tank was targeted, resulting in a large fire at the\nsite,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, Bahrain\u2019s Ministry of Interior reported a fire at a\nbusiness facility due to \u201cIranian aggression\u201d. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia\u2019s\nMinistry of Defence stated that it had successfully intercepted and\ndestroyed several drones.<\/p>\n<p>Another incident also occurred in Qatari waters. The UK\u2019s Maritime\nTrade Operations agency (UKMTO) reported that a tanker was hit by an\nunknown projectile approximately 17 nautical miles or 31 kilometres\nnorth of Doha.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tanker was hit by an unknown projectile on its port side,\ncausing damage to the hull above the waterline. The crew were reported\nsafe,\u201d the UKMTO statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The agency added that there was no environmental impact from the\nincident and that investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, on Tuesday, KUNA also reported a fire on a Kuwaiti oil\ntanker at Dubai Port due to an Iranian attack, with no casualties.<\/p>\n<p>These attacks are occurring amid rising tensions in the Gulf region\nsince the outbreak of conflict triggered by the US and Israeli attacks\non Iran on 28 February. Since then, Tehran has reportedly launched\nmissile and drone strikes on several targets in Israel and US allies in\nthe Gulf.<\/p>\n<p>This series of incidents also confirms the increasing security risks\nin the oil-rich Gulf region, in line with Iran\u2019s threats to target vital\ninfrastructure, including energy facilities, in response to the US and\nIsraeli attacks.<\/p>",
