        "content": "<p>Draft law on taxation<\/p>\n<p>From Suara Karya<\/p>\n<p>The draft law on taxation which the government is planning to<br>\nsubmit to the House of Representatives (DPR) contains, among<br>\nother things, the recommendation that the State Administrative<br>\nCourt be declared incompetent to handle complaints filed by<br>\ntaxpayers concerning warrants issued by the tax authorities to<br>\ncollect taxes in arrears.<\/p>\n<p>Giving the tax authorities the right to issue warrants would<br>\nmake them extremely powerful with respect to collecting taxes<br>\nthat are owed on the basis of the tax forms that are also issued<br>\nby them.<\/p>\n<p>The government's proposal to stipulate that tax payers cannot<br>\nfile a complaint with the State Administrative Court is therefore<br>\nsuperfluous. The House should reject this proposal.
