The House of Representatives’ Commission III has established a
special oversight working committee to supervise the legal enforcement
of three corruption cases implicating former Junior Attorney General for
Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman
stated that the oversight team would be directly involved in field
operations. “We will participate in monitoring the search processes,” he
said during a special meeting at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on
Saturday, July 11, 2026. He added that the committee would also take
part in examining locations and evidence related to the handling of the
corruption cases. “We will ensure that all our activities are
transparent, so the public can follow them,” said the Gerindra Party
politician. Habiburokhman explained that the direct involvement of the
legal commission’s oversight team in investigating the alleged criminal
acts of corruption was crucial. According to him, direct legislative
oversight could close loopholes for fraud. “So there is no slander.
Don’t let any money be swapped. God forbid, a gold bar could be replaced
with a chocolate bar,” said the Chairman of the Corruption Case
Oversight Committee. In addition to direct supervision, Habiburokhman
urged law enforcement officials not to relent in investigating the cases
involving Febrie Adriansyah. He also cautioned all security and law
enforcement institutions to remain solid and synergistic. He stated that
the corruption cases currently under investigation were not
representative of the policies of state institutions or agencies. The
matter, he said, was carried out by individual persons within those
institutions. “Therefore, there must be absolutely no confrontation or
sectoral ego conflicts between institutions,” he said. Previously, the
police officially handed over three cases implicating former Junior
Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah to the Attorney
General’s Office. The three corruption cases include the PT Asabri case,
the PT Krakatau Steel case, and a coal supply corruption case that
caused power outages in Sumatra, which was previously investigated by
the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps together with the Metro Jaya
Regional Police. In this case, the police have named two suspects:
Febrie Adriansyah and a private party, Don Ritto. Both the evidence and
the suspects will soon be handed over to the prosecutor’s office. Don
Ritto has been detained at the Metro Jaya Police detention centre, while
Febrie has not yet been detained. “He has been named a suspect by the
Head of the Corruption Eradication Corps, but has not yet been
detained,” said Acting Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Rudi
Margono at the Attorney General’s Office building on Saturday, July 11,
2026.
",
