The DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team for 2026 has committed to
prioritising monitoring services for elderly, disabled, and female
pilgrims.

Member of the DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team for 2026, Maman Imanulhaq,
stated that they will do their best to ensure the availability of staff
to serve these three categories of pilgrims, especially the elderly and
disabled.

Maman said that regarding disabled pilgrims, they have received
information that special transportation has been provided for them.

“We certainly appreciate this,” he said before departing for Mecca on
Sunday (17/5).

Meanwhile, for the elderly group, they are still monitoring the
services provided.

The team hopes that staff serving elderly pilgrims will prioritise
psychological communication.

“Respect for the elderly through more humane methods is also
something we hope can be prioritised,” he said.

In addition to prioritising these three groups of pilgrims, member of
the DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team 2026, Selly Andriany Gantina, stated
shortly before departing for Mecca on Saturday (16/5) that they will
also focus on monitoring the provision of facilities for pilgrims.

Monitoring includes accommodation and hotel facilities for
pilgrims.

She said that the supervisory team has received reports of inadequate
hotel facilities provided for pilgrims.

The inadequacy of these hotel services will be one of the important
issues highlighted by the DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team 2026.

“There are several hotels that reportedly are not suitable and should
not be used in the coming years. These are some of the things we will
pay attention to,” she said on Saturday (16/5).

In addition to hotel suitability, they also highlighted the issue of
overcapacity in the rooms provided for pilgrims.

According to her, in the contracts made by the Ministry of Hajj with
vendors, each room should only have a capacity of four beds.

However, based on initial findings and information obtained by the
DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team 2026, the number of beds provided in one
room actually reaches six.

“The information we received at the DPR is that some pilgrims are
experiencing overcapacity, especially in sectors 4 and 9,” she said.

In addition to hotel services, the DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team also
highlighted the provision of food or catering services for pilgrims.

The DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team has received information that
although the catering service provides a variety of Indonesian dishes,
it is still quite monotonous for pilgrims.

“This will also be our basis for evaluation,” she said.
",
