        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad has urged members of the\npublic holding US dollars to exchange them for rupiah so that the rupiah\nexchange rate can strengthen further. He stated that the Government has\nprepared various strategies to make the rupiah appreciate again.\nAccordingly, he advised the public to exchange their US dollars now\nbefore the value drops in the future. \u201cBecause if the rupiah strengthens\nnext week, it would be a pity to keep holding dollars. That is my\nappeal,\u201d Dasco said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Thursday.\nAccording to him, the strengthening of the rupiah and the Composite\nStock Price Index (IHSG) is due to growing confidence in the current\ngovernment. This, he said, has an impact on the market and on the\nstrengthening of the rupiah exchange rate. \u201cThis week and in the coming\nweeks, there are special strategies that will be implemented by the\ngovernment, which I have heard about and believe will cause the exchange\nrate or the rupiah to strengthen,\u201d he said. Permata Bank Chief Economist\nJosua Pardede assessed that the rupiah\u2019s strengthening coincides with\neasing concerns over Indonesia\u2019s fiscal prospects. \u201cConcerns over\nIndonesia\u2019s fiscal prospects have eased alongside the weakening of\nglobal oil prices, while the government\u2019s decision to adjust the price\nof Pertamax fuel has also helped reduce pressure on the fiscal balance,\u201d\nhe told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.
