In fact, our\ndisaster mitigation team has alluded to the need for mitigation\nefforts,\u201d Puan told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmaker stressed that stronger coordination among ministries and\nstate agencies is essential to ensuring effective anticipatory measures\nthrough strategic collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>She confirmed that local authorities in Solok are continuing search\nand evacuation efforts in affected areas and expressed hope that the\ndisaster\u2019s impact could be minimized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, it is crucial to pursue more effective anticipatory and\nmitigation measures going foreard,\u201d the lawmaker said.<\/p>\n<p>The flash flood struck on Monday night (Sept.\u00a021) after two days of\nrainfall in Solok, affecting multiple homes and district government\nfacilities.<\/p>\n<p>Solok District Head Jon Firman Pandu said on Tuesday that the\nbuildings of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office and the Health\nOffice were among the facilities affected.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that his administration had moved swiftly to respond to\nthe emergency in coordination with various institutions, including the\nmilitary and the police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also prepared an evacuation shelter for residents whose\nhomes were damaged or affected by the flood,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the district government had begun assessing the impact\nof the flood, including mapping affected homes, government offices, and\npublic facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The disaster injured at least four residents and displaced 32 people,\naccording to a report from Solok\u2019s disaster mitigation body.
