        "content": "<p>JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani has urged the government to\nevaluate the deployment of TNI soldiers in conflict zones following the\ndeaths of three TNI personnel with UNIFIL in Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government should evaluate the assignment of TNI soldiers in\nconflict areas,\u201d said Puan during the DPR Plenary Session at the DPR\nBuilding, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>She requested that the protection provided must align with\ninternational best practice standards in UN peacekeeping operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis requires readiness in terms of politics, capacity, and the\noperational environment,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that they fell while carrying out a humanitarian mission in\nLebanon.<\/p>\n<p>Puan also emphasised the importance for relevant parties to conduct a\ncredible investigation together with the UN to uncover objective\nfacts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis effort is based on the core principles of UN peacekeeping\nmissions, namely transparency, accountability, as well as respect for\ninternational law and human rights,\u201d added Puan.<\/p>\n<p>Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya affirmed that the government has\nno plans to withdraw TNI troops from the United Nations Interim Force in\nLebanon (UNIFIL).<\/p>\n<p>However, the government is still conducting evaluations following the\ndeaths of the three soldiers due to a military attack in the\nIsrael-Lebanon conflict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no plan for that (withdrawal of troops). Evaluations\ncontinue, internal and external evaluations,\u201d said Cabinet Secretary\nTeddy when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday\n(10\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>He conveyed that Indonesia\u2019s commitment to maintaining world peace is\nfirmly stated in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution (UUD).<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the importance of TNI soldiers\u2019 security in\npeacekeeping missions has also been emphasised by TNI Commander General\nAgus Subiyanto and Foreign Minister Sugiono.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it has been firmly stated that in accordance with the fourth\nparagraph of the opening of the Law, to contribute to world order.
