The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) has received four names\nproposed by President Prabowo Subianto to fill the leadership positions\nat Bank Indonesia (BI). DPR Speaker Puan Maharani confirmed that the\nparliamentary process will begin after the opening of the sitting\nsession on 14 August 2026.<\/p>\n
In the presidential letter, President Prabowo proposed Destry\nDamayanti as the sole candidate for the position of Governor of Bank\nIndonesia. Puan also revealed the other candidates for the remaining\npositions.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne candidate for Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia is\nMrs.\u00a0Aida S. Budiman. And two names for Deputy Governor of Bank\nIndonesia, namely Mr.\u00a0Solihin M. Juhro and Mr.\u00a0M. Anwar Bashori,\u201d Puan\nstated in an official release.<\/p>\n
Puan assured that all names would be processed according to the\napplicable mechanisms and regulations within the DPR. She noted that the\nselection and approval process would determine which candidates are\nultimately appointed to the Board of Governors before being inaugurated\nby the President.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the opening of the session, we will process these names\naccording to the existing mechanisms in the DPR. We will select and\napprove the names to be chosen for later inauguration by the President,\u201d\nshe said.<\/p>\n
The proposed candidates cover several strategic positions within the\ncentral bank\u2019s leadership structure.
