Wakil Ketua Komisi X DPR RI Lalu Hadrian Irfani has urged that distance learning (PJJ) be implemented selectively rather than nationally to preserve education quality amid digital infrastructure disparities across regions. He praised the government's energy-saving efforts through PJJ but stressed that learning standards must not be compromised, calling for periodic evaluations to assess its impact. This follows Coordinating Minister Pratikno's announcement of strategies, including hybrid online and offline methods, to align with President Prabowo Subianto's directives while maintaining practical sessions face-to-face.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian
House of Representatives (DPR RI) Lalu Hadrian Irfani believes that the
implementation of distance learning (PJJ) or online learning needs to be
carried out selectively to maintain education quality in Indonesia.

According to Lalu, quoted in Jakarta on Wednesday, there are still
disparities in digital infrastructure in various regions that could
widen the education gap if PJJ policy is applied broadly.

“Therefore, the implementation of PJJ should be done selectively, not
nationally, taking into account the readiness of each region,” he
said.

Nevertheless, Lalu appreciated the government’s steps to save energy
through the planned implementation of PJJ. He reminded that the policy
must not sacrifice the quality of learning for students.

“We hope that energy-saving efforts can still be carried out without
sacrificing the quality of learning in Indonesia,” he said.

In addition, Lalu also encouraged periodic evaluations of the
distance learning policy. According to him, evaluations are important to
be conducted so that the PJJ policy can be reviewed or even stopped if
it is proven to have a negative impact on education quality.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture
Pratikno stated last week that the government is preparing energy-saving
strategies in the public sector as a follow-up to President Prabowo
Subianto’s directives.

Adjusting online and offline (luring) learning methods according to
the characteristics of the subject becomes one of the main cross-agency
energy-saving strategies agreed by the government.

Pratikno, in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/3), explained
that to maintain education quality, practical learning activities will
still be directed to take place face-to-face.
",
