Commission XIII of the House of Representatives held a hearing with\nthe Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Muhammad Qodari. During\nthe meeting, several commission members criticised the role of the KSP\nin the Prabowo Subianto administration.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place in the Commission XIII meeting room at the\nHouse of Representatives, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (13\/4\/2026). The\nmeeting was chaired directly by the Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII,\nAndreas Hugo Pareira.<\/p>\n
Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII, Dewi Asmara, offered criticism of\nthe KSP\u2019s role in the government. She urged the KSP not to merely act as\nthe president\u2019s public relations arm.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding the balance between communication functions and substance.\nWe hope that the KSP does not just become the president\u2019s public\nrelations, but there must be indicators of the quality of those\npublications in terms of public understanding,\u201d said Dewi Asmara.<\/p>\n
She also requested that the KSP not only report news but also improve\ncommunication methods so that the public can more easily understand.\n\u201cBecause we see that it\u2019s actually already good, the reporting is also\ngood, but perhaps there need to be indicators on how to further improve\nit in the future so that the public can more easily digest it,\u201d she\nstated.<\/p>\n
Member of Commission XIII, Frederik Kalalembang, also highlighted the\nKSP\u2019s role in the Prabowo Administration. He said that the KSP\u2019s role is\nactually crucial in the Prabowo government.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I look at the duties and responsibilities of the KSP, they are\nquite significant because they are involved in all ministerial\ninstitutions, so what needs to be strengthened here is the deputy, so\nthe Deputy must really monitor the implementation in the ministries and\ninstitutions,\u201d said Frederik during the meeting.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, he highlighted the relationship between the KSP and\nPresident Prabowo. He assessed that there should be an emotional\ncloseness with Prabowo since the KSP is the one conveying government\nprogrammes to the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cSecondly, of course, there must be an emotional closeness with the\npresident, because we know how MBG is, how the Merah Putih Cooperative\nis, how the current housing is, so this can be explained to the public,\nnow if the one conveying it is the head of the MBG institution itself\nand it\u2019s not really connecting to the public, but it should be the KSP\nthat conveys it as the eyes and ears of the President,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He urged the KSP not to remain silent with the current situation\nregarding Prabowo\u2019s programmes. He asked the KSP to find ways to report\nto Prabowo and explain to the public about the ongoing programmes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis must be done properly so as not to just get stuck or stay\nsilent, because if the KSP stays silent, it won\u2019t be noticed or\nconsidered, but the KSP must really find openings and report to the\nPresident and then report to the public like this is the situation,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
