Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, carried out direct oversight\nof the implementation of the Self-Assisted Housing Stimulus Assistance\n(BSPS) programme in Bandung Regency to ensure it runs on target and\nprovides tangible benefits to the community.<\/p>\n
He conveyed this after attending the BSPS CPB visit activity and the\npeople\u2019s tender simulation (PTT) in Banyusari Village, Katapang\nSubdistrict. The event was also attended by the Minister of Housing and\nSettlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait and West Java Governor Dedi\nMulyadi, on Monday, 13 April 2026.<\/p>\n
In his statement, Cucun noted that overseeing government programmes,\nespecially those part of President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s agenda, is part of\nhis parliamentary duties.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is part of my oversight. I want to see how the regents\u2019\nperformance programmes truly become people-oriented programmes,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He assessed that the large budget allocated by the government must be\nfelt directly by the public, particularly in meeting basic needs such as\ndecent housing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis large budget must truly benefit the people directly and be\nfelt. Earlier, we saw residents receiving renovated houses that have\nbecome better,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
In addition to the housing sector, Cucun also touched on the impact\nof the West Java Provincial Government\u2019s programmes on the growth of\nmicro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM).<\/p>\n
\u201cI am confident that the Governor\u2019s programmes can foster UMKM actors\nto develop in West Java, especially in Bandung Regency,\u201d he\nremarked.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, he revealed that there are still challenges in\nimplementing the BSPS programme, particularly related to land\nlimitations.<\/p>\n
According to him, some areas in his constituency are located in\nstate-owned enterprise (BUMN) plantation zones that cannot be developed\nthrough the BSPS scheme.<\/p>\n
He explained that based on data from the Bandung Regency Housing,\nSettlement Areas, and Land Office (Disperkimtan), there are around\n24,000 housing units that have not yet been reached by the BSPS\nprogramme, and 17,000 housing units on BUMN land that cannot receive the\nBSPS programme.<\/p>\n
Cucun added that areas such as Kertasari, Ciwidey, and Pangalengan\nserve as examples of locations with such issues, as many residents\u2019\nhouses stand on land owned by BUMN entities like PT Perkebunan Nusantara\nor Perhutani.<\/p>\n
