The funds are urgently required to secure tent accommodation in Saudi Arabia ahead of a looming deadline.

Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR) has approved a
proposed down payment of Rp4.07 trillion for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage.
The conclusion was reached during a meeting between Commission VIII,
Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, and the Head of the
Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), Fadlul Imansyah, at the
parliamentary complex on Tuesday (14/7). Commission VIII Chairman Marwan
Dasopang stated that the disbursement would be used for a down payment
on tents for next year’s pilgrimage. “Commission VIII of the DPR RI
approves the need for a down payment transfer related to tent costs
amounting to 858,743,189 Saudi Riyals and 64 halalas, equivalent to
Rp4,007,471,080,797,” Marwan said. Following the meeting, Minister of
Hajj and Umrah Irfan Yusuf stated that the payment must be made
immediately as the deadline falls on Wednesday (15/7). He noted that the
payment serves as a commitment by a country to send its pilgrims the
following year. “The pattern carried out by the Saudi government is that
this payment is considered part of the certainty that we will
participate in sending pilgrims next year,” he said. Irfan added that if
the payment is not made promptly by the deadline, the Saudi government
will decide that the country is not sending pilgrims in 2027.
Consequently, the pilgrim quota from that country will be transferred to
other nations. “Likewise, if there are slots from other countries that
we consider good and those countries have not yet paid, we will use
those slots. That is the pattern of play in the Hajj,” he said.
",
