        "content": "<p>DPR and holiday bonuses<\/p>\n<p>I was both surprised and concerned by a report in Republika on<br>\nJan. 9, 2001, that a group of legislators from the House of<br>\nRepresentatives Commission IV had asked state limited liability<br>\nenterprise PT Angkasa Pura II for some money as a holiday gift<br>\nwhen they paid a visit to this airport management company in<br>\nearly December 2000 and on Dec. 21, 2000. These legislators went<br>\nto Angkasa Pura twice under the pretext of making a working<br>\nvisit, but actually they were after a \"holiday bonus\".<\/p>\n<p>If what Mr. Joni Sutjahjono said about this incident is<br>\ncorrect, these legislators have committed a shameful act which<br>\nwill only tarnish the reputation of the House. Actually, the<br>\nHouse has been striving to remove the negative image of this<br>\ninstitution for dozens of years.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure that the House remains on the right track,<br>\nespecially in seeking the truth in such major cases as Bulog-<br>\ngate, Brunei-gate and the appointment of Supreme Court chief<br>\njustice, and in connection with the request for a \"holiday<br>\nbonus\", allow me to recommend the following:<\/p>\n<p>(1) The leadership of the House must investigate this matter<br>\nthoroughly.<\/p>\n<p>(2) The leadership of the House must instruct that the \"holiday<br>\nbonus\" received by the legislators concerned be returned to PT<br>\nAngkasa Pura II.<\/p>\n<p>(3) The legislators receiving the holiday bonus must be severely<br>\nrebuked and reassigned.<\/p>\n<p>(4) The leadership of the House must offer a written apology to<br>\nPT Angkasa Pura II.<\/p>\n<p>MUHD.
