        "content": "<p>The DPD RI Papua Special Committee (Pansus) is committed to\npresenting solutions to the security and humanitarian conflict issues in\nPapua in an objective, comprehensive, and fair manner.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the DPD Papua Special Committee, Yorrys Raweyai, stated\nthat the committee is currently inventorying various issues in Papua,\nprimarily related to alleged human rights violations and issues\nsurrounding National Strategic Projects (PSN).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Special Committee has held its first meeting to inventory all\nproblems in Papua, and will subsequently invite ministries, agencies, or\nother stakeholders to engage in dialogue together,\u201d Yorrys said during a\npress conference following a meeting with the National Commission on\nHuman Rights at the parliamentary complex, Jakarta, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The working visit aims to assess the conditions of regions directly\nimpacted by conflict issues. The Special Committee will conduct in-depth\nstudies with various layers of society to obtain necessary data and\ndocuments.<\/p>\n<p>Yorrys explained that the Special Committee will work systematically\nthrough multi-stakeholder collaboration. The committee\u2019s findings will\neventually take the form of recommendations addressed directly to the\ngovernment.<\/p>\n<p>These recommendations are part of the DPD\u2019s constitutional\nresponsibility to advocate for regional interests. Consequently, the DPD\nPapua Special Committee will monitor the process until the\nrecommendations are genuinely implemented.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will continue to push for regulations and policies that\nbring real impact to victims and their families, regarding recovery,\nlegal certainty, and guarantees to ensure such events do not recur.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Special Committee has six months to work, with the\npossibility of an extension depending on the situation. The formation of\nthe Special Committee was agreed upon during the DPD plenary session\nlast May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur hope is that with this good start, and with our shared\nintentions and the same spirit of idealism, let us resolve the [conflict\nissues in] Papua within the context of the Unitary State of the Republic\nof Indonesia (NKRI),\u201d he concluded.<\/p>",
