        "content": "<p>DPD hopeful charged with falsifying data<\/p>\n<p>MANADO, North Sulawesi: A prosecutor indicted on Thursday local<br>\nresident Adnan for falsifying data while registering as a<br>\nRegional Representative Council (DPD) candidate.<\/p>\n<p>The trial, perhaps the first on election procedure violations,<br>\nis being held in Manado District Court.<\/p>\n<p>In the indictment, prosecutor Hans Kayadu said that defendant<br>\nAdnan, 54, wrote on a registration form he filed with the North<br>\nSulawesi General Election Commission in August that he was not<br>\nactive in any political party.<\/p>\n<p>But investigation by the commission found that he was listed<br>\nas a Reform Star Party (PBR) expert staff member.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to court based on a lawsuit filed by the local<br>\nNorth Sulawesi Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu).<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said the defendant had violated Article 137 of<br>\nLaw No. 12 on general elections. The article carries a maximum<br>\nsentence of 18 months in jail. -- JP<\/p>",
