Doyok gets one year jail term<\/p>\n
TANGERANG (JP): Comedian Sudarmadji, popularly known as Doyok,
\nwas sentenced on Monday to a one-year jail term for illegal use
\nof 0.5 grams of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine).<\/p>\n
The Tangerang District Court, presided over by Rukmini also
\nfined the 41-year-old lanky comedian Rp 1 million or serve an
\nadditional three months in jail.<\/p>\n
The verdict was three months lighter than the sentence
\ndemanded by prosecutor Nandi Warsidi.<\/p>\n
According to the court, the defendant was proven guilty of
\nviolating Article 62 of Law No. 5\/1997 on Psychotropic
\nSubstances.<\/p>\n
\"A worsening factor was that the defendant tarnished the image
\nof Indonesian artists,\" the judge said.<\/p>\n
Doyok was picked up from his residence in Karawaci, Tangerang,
\non July 21 following the arrest of a friend identified as Rizal
\nIndra Kresna, who sold the shabu-shabu to Doyok at the Jakarta
\nOpera House on July 19.<\/p>\n
Rizal has been sentenced to 16 months for illegally
\ntrafficking a total of 2.5 grams of shabu-shabu, 0.5 grams of
\nwhich was bought by Doyok.<\/p>\n
The lanky Doyok is very popular for his performances with
\ncomedian group Srimulat. Another Srimulat comedian, Polo, has
\nbeen in police detention for a similar offense. (41\/ylt)<\/p>",
