        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Investment\/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM)\nrecorded a total downstream investment realisation of Rp 147.5 trillion\nfor the first quarter of 2026. This represents growth of 8.2 percent\ncompared to the first quarter of 2025, which stood at Rp 136.3\ntrillion.<\/p>\n<p>Investment in the downstream sector accounted for 29.6 percent of the\ntotal investment realisation throughout the first quarter of 2026, which\namounted to Rp 498.8 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe contribution from investments in sectors related to\ndownstreaming is quite significant and could increase even further in\nthe future,\u201d said Minister of Investment\/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkasa\nRoeslani, during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (23\/4).<\/p>\n<p>Of the total downstream investment realisation of Rp 147.5 trillion,\nRp 98.3 trillion was in mineral downstreaming. The breakdown includes\nnickel at Rp 41.5 trillion, copper at Rp 20.7 trillion, iron and steel\nat Rp 17.0 trillion, bauxite at Rp 13.7 trillion, tin at Rp 2.5\ntrillion, and others at Rp 2.9 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Downstream investment in plantations and forestry totalled Rp 29.8\ntrillion. The details are palm oil at Rp 18.3 trillion, log wood at Rp\n7.0 trillion, rubber at Rp 2.4 trillion, and others at Rp 2.1 trillion.\n\u201cWe want investment in downstream plantations and forestry to increase\nas well,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Downstream investment in oil and natural gas (migas) reached Rp 17.7\ntrillion, comprising crude oil at Rp 13.6 trillion and natural gas at Rp\n4.1 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, downstream investment in fisheries and marine affairs\namounted to Rp 1.7 trillion. Commodities in this sector include salt,\nTCT fish (tuna, skipjack, mackerel), shrimp, seaweed, crab, and\ntilapia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see that downstream investment in fisheries and marine affairs\ncould increase in the next semester,\u201d said Rosan.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of downstream investment realisations are located\noutside Java, namely 75.5 percent or Rp 111.4 trillion. The largest are\nin Southeast Sulawesi (Sulteng) at Rp 24.1 trillion, North Maluku\n(Malut) at Rp 18.6 trillion, West Java at Rp 13.0 trillion, West Nusa\nTenggara (NTB) at Rp 12.9 trillion, and Riau Islands at Rp 9.6\ntrillion.<\/p>",
