Dot-com group plans 1,000 Net kiosks<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): PT Pointers Indonesia, a subsidiary of publicly
\nlisted PT Myohdotcom Indonesia, said on Monday that it plans to
\nbuild 1,000 Internet kiosks throughout Indonesia next year.<\/p>\n
Myohdotcom chief commissioner Jaegopal Hutapea told reporters
\nthe company hoped to have one Internet kiosk, or what it calls
\npointers, short for pojok internet (internet corners), in every
\nsubdistrict in the archipelago.<\/p>\n
PT Pointers will award franchises to small enterprises to open
\nthe kiosks with its name, he said.<\/p>\n
The company would provide hardware and software support as
\nwell as funding, either in the form of bank loans or a capital
\nventure, he said.<\/p>\n
Pointers already have 14 kiosks in Bandung and Jakarta,
\nJaegopal said during the soft launching of Myohdotcom's Business
\nInformation Technology Solution Center at the Menara Imperium
\nBuilding.<\/p>\n
The new center, the company said, offers various business
\nsolutions under one roof, providing systems support, software and
\nhardware to companies in industries like the hotel, hospital,
\nreal estate, retail, restaurant and manufacturing industries
\namong others.<\/p>\n
Myohdotcom is one of the first Indonesian-based companies that
\nhave tapped the local stock market for capital. The company was
\nlisted on the Surabaya Stock Exchange in July, rising Rp 500
\nbillion ($55 million) by the sale of 9.92 percent of its shares
\nto the public.<\/p>\n
The company hopes to be listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange
