The 19th Southeast Asia Games have just ended, with Indonesia
\nthe overall winner. Despite the success, we were taken aback by
\nseveral disagreeable happenings, like the unruly behavior of
\nsoccer fans one day before the closing of the Games and the
\ndoping case of national cyclist Tonton Susanto from West Java.<\/p>\n
We wonder how it could have happened to an athlete of Tonton's
\nstature. He has shown his worth in several events like Lengkawi,
\nin races in the Philippines, Tangkuban Perahu and the National
\nSports Week.<\/p>\n
It would be beneficial if the Indonesian Cycling Association
\n(ISSI) reevaluated the situation. Is the training center
\ninsufficient in drumming up confidence in athletes to give their
\nbest? Is there another factor, such as lack of communication
\nbetween athletes and officials?<\/p>\n
As a fan of Indonesian cycling, I am convinced that Tonton
\nSusanto's strength and capabilities are required for the sport. I
\nam very concerned by the doping case, and feel it is imperative
\nthe ISSI look into the issue.<\/p>\n
