JAKARTA \u2014 The restructuring process of state-owned enterprise (BUMN)\nKarya is said to be nearly complete, with the next phase moving into a\nconsolidation stage focused on three core business units.<\/p>\n
Dony Oskaria, head of the State Enterprise Regulatory Agency, stated\nthat the three core areas include construction in the building sector,\ninfrastructure, and engineering procurement and construction (EPC).<\/p>\n
Dony explained that the restructuring began with fundamental\nimprovements to the company. This step was undertaken through impairment\nadjustments to the financial statements.<\/p>\n
\u201cBUMN Karya is currently undergoing restructuring and is almost\nfinalised. We have already conducted impairments to address deficiencies\nin their books, and restructured their debts. After this, they will\nenter the consolidation phase,\u201d said Dony in a statement in Jakarta on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n
The company has also carried out debt restructuring as part of\nefforts to improve its financial condition.<\/p>\n
Dony assessed that fundamental improvements and consolidation will\nstrengthen BUMN Karya\u2019s future prospects. These changes are also\nexpected to enhance the company\u2019s corporate governance.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that the consolidation process is undertaken with\nprinciples of transparency. Public oversight is considered important for\nmaintaining the performance of state-owned enterprises.<\/p>\n
