Don't pollute Jakarta's rivers<\/p>\n

As a Jakarta resident who cares about the city's environment,
\nI am really concerned to see that a lot of garbage pollutes the
\ncity's rivers. None of us should throw garbage willy-nilly into
\nrivers surrounding our beloved capital city as it can pollute our
\nenvironment to an alarming level. This can be seen clearly if you
\nwalk along the Kali (river) Malang.<\/p>\n
Today, garbage, particularly plastic trash, really obstructs
\nthe flow of rivers in Jakarta. Along with other nonorganic trash,
\nthe plastic garbage piles up near water gates under some bridges
\nso that it prevents the water from flowing freely.<\/p>\n
Of course, river cleaning officers will have more to do if
\nthere is low awareness from city residents. One matter of
\ngreatest concern is that floods will cause disaster in the rainy
\nseason. Is this really what we want?<\/p>\n
