Don't poison the people<\/p>\n
Leader of Bali Bombing investigation team Insp. Gen. I Made
\nMangku Pastika has stressed that media news and reports refrain
\nfrom poisoning the minds of the people, who have been suffering
\nthe impacts of a multidimensional crisis.<\/p>\n
He made these statements at a press briefing in Denpasar,
\nBali, on Nov. 17.<\/p>\n
Trying to restrain his anger he said, \"I have said, don't
\ncontaminate the people's minds with dirty and unclear thoughts or
\nideas.\" He referred to media reports alleging National Police
\nchief Gen. Da'i Bachtiar to be the mastermind of the Bali
\ncarnage.<\/p>\n
One of the media's function is to criticize and cultivate
\npublic perception. This function will be credible if it is also
\nopen to criticism and cultivation by others.<\/p>\n
The reports in question contained comments, statements, and
\nobservation from public officials as quoted by the media. No
