Referring to a statement by the director of Bina Sumberdaya
\nMitra that appeared in the March 9 edition of Warta Kota about
\nthe public's need for trouble-free and affable service, I would
\nlike to share a personal experience.<\/p>\n
A land swap deal at Jl. Salemba Raya No. 16 (involving a
\nland plot belonging to the agriculture ministry) caused me to
\nleave my house, which was located on the plot of land, and move
\nto Jatibening I housing complex in Jatibening subdistrict,
\nBekasi, West Java.<\/p>\n
To get a resident identification card (KTP) and a family
\nmembership card (KK) at my new residence, I contacted the
\nJatibening subdistrict administrative office and obtained
\ntemporary cards No. 1549 to No. 1551, dated Nov. 9, 2001, at a
\ncost in accordance with the price established by the office. The
\noriginal cards are still being processed in the Pondok Gede
\ndistrict administrative office.<\/p>\n
But as of March 2002 the original KTP and KK cards have not
\nbeen issued. Therefore, I suggest that, as is the procedure in
\nJakarta, subdistrict offices should be authorized to process and
\nissue KTP and KK cards.<\/p>\n
