        "content": "<p>Donation for elderly, poor<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta chapter of the Persit Kartika<br>\nChandra Kirana, an association of wives of Army members, has<br>\ndonated  Rp 100,000 in cash to each of 100 elderly people and 100<br>\nchildren from poor families.<\/p>\n<p>The donation was handed over to the recipients by the<br>\norganization's chairperson, Mrs. Uga Wiranto, at the Tangerang<br>\nMilitary Headquarters on Friday in conjunction with the opening<br>\nof a \"super  cheap\" bazaar to highlight the celebration of the<br>\n45th anniversary of the Jakarta Military Command.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the money, the association also donated sets of<br>\nwriting items, including books, pencils and pens, to the<br>\nchildren.<\/p>\n<p>The association also granted scholarships to a number of<br>\nchildren of soldiers of the lower ranks, including sergeants,<br>\ncorporals and privates.(bas)<\/p>",
