The Regent of Dompu, Bambang Firdaus, has stated that the local government is awaiting clearer directives from the central government before deciding on the implementation of Work From Home (WFH) policies for civil servants (ASN). He emphasised the need for a comprehensive study of the policy's impacts, particularly on public service delivery and fuel consumption reduction, noting that not all central directives are suitable for local conditions. While acknowledging potential benefits for sustainability, Firdaus warned that WFH could negatively affect ASN performance, and operations remain normal in the interim.

The Regent of Dompu, Bambang Firdaus, has not yet decided on
implementing the Work From Home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN).
According to him, the Dompu Regency Government (Pemkab Dompu) is still
awaiting clarity from the central government regarding that policy.

“Regarding WFH, we haven’t decided yet. We’re still waiting for
clarity from the centre. If and when it happens, we will consider it
together; up to today, we are still operating normally,” said Bambang
Firdaus to reporters at the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari
Dompu) on Thursday (9/4/2026).

According to him, WFH is a central government policy aimed at
reducing the use of fuel oil (BBM). Bambang assessed that regions need
to conduct a thorough and comprehensive study of the impacts it would
cause.

Pemkab Dompu, Bambang explained, has not yet conducted a study
related to the WFH policy. However, he said, not all central government
directives can be implemented by local governments.

“We haven’t conducted an initial study on WFH. We will review it
later, whether it will apply on Fridays or Mondays or not at all. Not
all regions implement it because each area has its own conditions,”
stated Bambang.

Bambang emphasised that the WFH policy would have a negative impact
on reducing ASN work activities in public services. On the other hand,
if there are positive impacts for sustainability, then the WFH policy
will be implemented in Dompu.

“If it doesn’t have much impact, why should we do it? WFH also
impacts the reduction of work activities in public services. But if it
has a good impact, we will do something in line with the central
regulations. We don’t always follow all central directives,” Bambang
asserted firmly.
",
